Trip to the Ichaboid City

Not all of our missions take place on the surface. Some take place below the surface - like our trip to the Ichaboid city.

The Ichaboids help protect our oceans from the military attempting to weaponize them. They are a little known ET race who does not have contact with terrestrial humans and they prefer it that way.

When Jmmanuel was advised they'd found something on the ocean floor and they wanted someone to come check it out, it was decided Jmmanuel's brother, Teeds was to go. Me being me said "I want to go with him!"
Jmmanuel: "Absolutely not. They do not want contact with Terrans."

No amount of begging and pleading on my part would change his mind...until Teeds said "Well, wait a minute now. She's a certified advanced diver and I may need a second pair of hands down there! It won't do any harm to at least ask them if she could be allowed to come along."

God love Teeds! My hero!
It took a WHOLE LOT of channel clearing but I was finally given the Ichaboids permission to accompany Teeds.

"You better be on your very BEST behavior!" Jmmanuel warned me. I promised him I would and wouldn't let him down.

We traveled to the Ichaboid city in a USO that looked rather like a futuristic submarine. It was made out of an ET material that resembled glass but could withstand the pressures of the depth we were traveling to. It also manufactured its own light - a big plus since at those depths it was pitch black.

The interior kind of resembled a very souped up conversion van.

As we approached the vicinity of the Ichaboid city I was shocked to see we were suddenly surrounded by Merpeople! Up to that point I'd always believed they were a myth. It never crossed my mind to try to telepathically communicate with them. I guess I was too shocked.
But they seemed friendly enough. When I put my hand up against the 'glass' wall of the USO one of them swam up to the sub and put his hand against mine as though he were saying hello.

Teeds explained they were the aquatic predecessors of land dwelling Terrans. This isn't as unusual as it sounds...many ET races have aquatic species' that preceded their land dwelling ancestors.

The Merpeople looked half human, half fish. At least the species of Merpeople I saw did.
They had human facial features although their eyes were far larger and they had a ridge on the top of their heads.

Their hands and feet were webbed.

From the waist down they had tails like a fish and they moved effortlessly through the water, even at those depths. They accompanied us all the way to the Ichaboid city as though escorting us.

Soon the Ichaboid city loomed before us. It was enormous in size and made of the same glass-like material that would hold up against the psi of the water at the depth we were at.
I don't know specifically how deep we were but we were certainly deep enough that a manmade submersible would've immediately imploded.

We entered through a hatch at the base of the Ichaboid city and something lifted us up to the surface level of the city.
We got out of the USO to find a group of Ichaboids waiting for us. We cannot verbally speak their language (they're telepathic but have a verbal language as well) so it was decided I'd call the spokesman of their group "Ichabod". (Yeah, I know...real original. LOL)

The Ichaboids are half frog, half fish. Their facial features are fish-like. They have a dorsal fin atop their heads and eyes, nose and mouth very similar to a fish. They have 2 sets of gills on the sides of their faces - one for breathing on land, one for breathing in water.

They have pectoral fins at their waists and from the waist down look like a frog. Hands and feet are webbed and when they walk they have a kind of hopping motion but not as pronounced as a frog's.

They stand around 7-8' tall. Their skin is comprised of iridescent looking bluish greenish silverish scales.

They're extremely intelligent and I was to discover, extremely spiritual beings as well.

They are also master genetecists as well.

There's always a learning curve between us in getting to know one another and this was no exception. I was the first Terran they'd ever encountered.

Before I realized what was happening, Ichabod reached out, grabbed my boob and began feeling it. This was not done in any sexual way, it was a geneticist's natural curiosity with a new species. I remembered my promise to Jmmanuel to be on my best behavior and let Ichabod have it at it. I'd had worse Wednesday nights. I glanced over at Teeds and he was struggling to keep a straight face.

Those formalities over with the Ichaboids took us on a tour of their city. The first thing they showed us was their pools. Cetaceans like whales and dolphins are ET's, here to record our oceans history. That is what a whale song is - the transferring of history from pod to pod.

These pools were enormous in size and each cetacean had its own pool. Around the circumference of these pools were what looked to be very advanced computers. The cetaceans would surface in these pools and transfer what they'd recorded into these computers. The Ichaboids then had a very good handle on everything going on in our oceans.

From the pools the Ichaboids took us to their genetic lab. It was full of 'workbench' type stations. Out of these sprung live working life-sized models of all of the different species they had studied and/or created.

Silly me...I blurted out "You don't have any human models!"
You'd think one of these days I'd learn to keep my big yap shut.

Ichabod took the opening, asking Teeds and I if they could make a model of our bodies.
Well I'd already been groped...why not? What did we have to do?

There were green lighted circles inset into the lab floor. Strip off our clothes, stand in those rings and the whole process would take less than a minute.
As we stood in the circles a ring of green light came out of the circles and moved upward, scanning our bodies. It took no time at all.

We redressed and Ichabod took us over to one of the workbenches. A live working full sized models of our bodies rose up out of the top of the workbench.

They were actually pretty cool. We could see

our hearts beating, blood circulating, lungs expanding and contracting. We must've been quite the curiosity as all of the Ichaboid geneticists in the lab immediately began gathering around our models to examine them in detail.

From there Ichabod took us to their birthing pools. There's one pool for the Ichaboids and one for the Merpeople. The female Ichaboid lays her eggs in this pool and cares for them for roughly the first 2 months of the offspring's life when the offspring move up onto land. From that point on, the father cares for the offspring and they immediately begin their spiritual education.

Ichabod then asked how humans reproduced, the details of the process. Teeds and I explained the whole process to him. It must've grossed Ichabod out because he said "I think we'll stick to egg laying." For our part, Teeds and I were just glad he didn't ask us to demonstrate the whole process.

After seeing the birthing pools Ichabod told us they'd prepared a meal for us and showed us their aquaponic gardens. The crops looked mostly like various forms of seaweed.
Now I can be a bit adventurous in trying new foods but I was wondering how I'd eat the meal they'd prepared and keep it down.

Teeds again came to my rescue, explaining to Ichabod "It would probably be best if she didn't eat much before we examine your findings."

I did try a couple bites, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

By this time it was getting late and Teeds and I still had our 'dive' to do. Silly me, I assumed we'd be in a vehicle similar to the USO we'd come to the city in.
OH CONTRARE!

Ichabod explained they'd constructed special suits for us that would protect us from imploding at the depths we were at. With that, they brought 2 of these suits out.

I immediately thought WE'RE GONNA DIE DOWN HERE!

I kid you not, these suits were the thickness of Saran Wrap. They had a helmet that resembled the top of a jellyfish. As we're worming out way into these Saran Wrap suits, Ichabod is explaining they'll provide an endless supply of air and should the items we're examining set off an explosive or concussive reaction, we'll only take a couple steps backward at most.

Yup...WE'RE GONNA DIE DOWN HERE!

I can't tell you specifically what we were sent to examine but it was weaponry.

We did travel to the site in the USO but then it came time to get out of it. I'm not afraid of dying but imploding at the bottom of the ocean wasn't my idea of how to go out with a bang. Pun intended.

If you're not familiar with what happens in the implosion of a human body at depth, this will give you an idea:

To my utter amazement we didn't implode. I wish I would've been able to bring that Saran Wrap suit back with me because I could've revolutionized our diving industry.
Despite being at bone crushing depths, we felt no pressure on our bodies whatsoever. We could easily move in the suits and had all the air we needed. Furthermore, I didn't have to breathe a gas mixture like divers here do. It was as if I was breathing normally on land. Nor was any decompression necessary. SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

We returned to the Ichaboid city and prepared to leave. I felt I'd kind of miss the Ichaboids as I really liked them.

When we arrived back at Jmmanuel's ship we were immediately debriefed. I must've behaved okay because Jmmanuel thanked me and said the Ichaboids had told him I was welcome back any time. Chalk one up for the Terrans!

A couple weeks later I was surfing the Net when what do I come across? The account of the ET Swimmers spotted in Siberia's Lake Baikal. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

They looked almost identical to the Ichaboids and there were the Saran Wrap suits with the jellyfish-like helmets!

The story went 7 Russian Navy divers were diving in Lake Baikal when they encountered the Swimmers.
They made the stupid decision to try to net one of the Swimmers to capture it.

The Swimmers didn't take at all kindly to this and set off a concussion wave that sent all 7 divers hurtling toward the surface.

Not having decompressed, the divers all immediately got the bends.

Unfortunately there was only one decompression chamber anywhere near them, designed to hold 2 divers.

As a result 3 of the 7 divers died, 4 survived but were severely and permanently disabled. If I remember correctly, the four surviving divers were placed in mental institutions and forbidden by the Russian government to speak about encountering the Swimmers. Incidentally, Lake Baikal is a hotbed of USO activity.

The Ichaboids and Swimmers don't look exactly alike. The irises in the eyes of the Ichaboids are round and black like a fish's. The Swimmers have the vertical iris of the Reptilians. Nor do the Swimmers have the pectoral fins at the waist that the Ichaboids have. My guess is they might be "cousins" of sorts.

It's also interesting that the Swimmers were described as wearing thin suits of some kind of advanced technology. Oh yeah...those Saran Wrap suits! And I recalled what Ichabod had said about how the suits would protect us in the event of an explosion or concussion attack of any kind. The Swimmers had set off a CONCUSSION WAVE that hadn't affected them, only the divers.
